Community Impact
Based upon answers from partner agencies we allocated the dollars received from the community. As you can imagine, numbers have grown year after year. Our partner agencies have done a magnificent job of responding to individual needs, and "pulling people out of the river."
However, now is the time to use our combined community resources to break the cycle of need and empower people and communities.
United Way Community Impact will do just that. We are committed to empowering individuals, families and communities to improve their lives. To do this we will be focusing on the following areas:
⇒ Critical Needs - investing in basic food, shelter, safety, medical and emergency services.
⇒ Successful Lives - strengthening individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency.
⇒ Commitment to Learning - empowering people of all ages through learning and skills development.
As you can see, the shift is away from gathering "numbers of people served" to how they are served - asking our partners what did we do to help the person stay out of the river!
This is an exciting time for our community. Community Impact will require new approaches and partnerships to harness the resources and skills we have within the county.
Our Mission is: "Improving lives by mobilizing people to make lasting changes in community conditions.
