United Way of Yavapai County kicked-off of its 2008 campaign, “Strike it Rich,” with a leadership luncheon on Monday, September 24 at the Antelope Hills Old Clubhouse.  Arnold Grey, President of Summit Bank and chairman of the 2008 United Way Campaign Cabinet keynoted the event which also featured the United Way Pacesetters who have implemented early campaigns.

Leaders from private business, education and public sector attended the luncheon hosted by Unisource Energy Services. The goal of the luncheon is to embrace the United Way’s Areas of Care for the campaign. These include—

·         Critical Needs: Investing in basic food, shelter, safety and emergency medical services

·         Successful Lives: Strengthening individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency

·         Commitment to Learning: Empowering people of all ages through learning and skills development

“I can guarantee, at one time or another, United Way has touched a friend’s, a relative’s or your life,” said campaign chair Arnold Gray. “We can all do one small thing to make a difference right here in Yavapai County, and we’re counting on all of you,” he added.

Thanks to all the businesses and individuals who helped make the kick-off a huge success.
