Yavapai UNITED WAY News

Our Community Impact

Initiative funds thirteen programs involving over 30 county non-profits serving infants,

children, teens, parents, seniors and the disabled in the Quad-Cities Area and the Verde

Valley. We expect to add an additional five to eight more programs in the first quarter

of 2012.

   Initiative program collaborators.

                        

 

 

On June 30th, UWYC distributed $42,553 to Community Impact programs, and

$14,740 to 28 non-profits designated by the donors for a total of $57,293. UWYC

makes distributions quarterly.  Richard Joliet, United Way of Yavapai County

United Way and First Things First partnered to Fund the "Beaver Creek School

Aftershock Program" that provides pre- and after-school programs for over 70

children, kindergarten through 5th grade. This funding also supports the

area's only preschool for 40 children, the school's "Backpack Program" for 12

children to have weekend lunches and a monthly food distribution program for

75 families.
